Scrapbook.com Collaboration: You Make Me Proud

Scrapbook.com was kind enough to send me some products to try from their exclusive line of stamps, note cards, adhesives and tools.  I have been shopping with them since I first started scrapbooking and I love the huge variety of paper lines they carry.  Now they have their own stamps!  I’m really excited to show you the projects I created and as always, all opinions are my own.

For this project, I created an encouragement card using their DIY Coupons set along with a sentiment from You and Me Quotes and Sayings.

I started off by masking off the edge of one of the Neenah A2 Solar White notecards.  This helps to keep the back of the card clean when I do my stamping.

Instead of using the coupon stamps as actual coupons, I thought it would be fun to create a background with them and then add an encouraging sentiment over the top.

I chose some bold colors from Lawn Fawn’s ink collection for a bright backdrop.

Since I would not be using a stamp platform and just free-hand stamping, I placed a pad underneath my card along with some scrap paper, so that when I stamped, it would be easy to get a clear image on the first try.

After stamping the first image, I placed a little masking tape over the first stamp just at the edge so I could stamp over it to start creating the background.

I continued adding tape and stamping to create the look of the coupons laying in front of and behind each other.

I heat embossed a sentiment from the You and Me Quotes and Sayings stamp set onto some black cardstock using white embossing powder and popped it up over the background with some foam squares.

I added a couple of the little circle stamps from the coupon set that I punched out with a 1″ paper punch for embellishment.

Spring and Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop

It’s time for another Coffee Lovers Bloghop!  This time, the focus is on Spring and Summer.  Of course, that means a rainbow for me.  For my project, I used the Layered Coffee Cup die and the “Got Coffee?” die, both by Kat Scrappiness.

To create the rainbow, going into the coffee cup, I created a mask using a curved die that I cut into some scrap cardstock.  I created the stripes coming down across my notecard using the 2 masks side by side, leaving space for the stripes.   I used a variety of Distress Oxide inks to  create the rainbow.

Next, I lined up the top of the coffee cup lid with the rainbow and drew some pencil lines where I wanted to continue the rainbow onto the lid.

I used the same mask to add more rainbow colors to the top of the lid.

I wanted to add a little bit of blue to the background, so I just used the mask again to blend some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink onto the card.

I dry embossed a flower pattern onto my coffee cup to add a little texture.

A couple of butterflies and my sentiment finish the card.
