Spring and Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop

It’s time for another Coffee Lovers Bloghop!  This time, the focus is on Spring and Summer.  Of course, that means a rainbow for me.  For my project, I used the Layered Coffee Cup die and the “Got Coffee?” die, both by Kat Scrappiness.

To create the rainbow, going into the coffee cup, I created a mask using a curved die that I cut into some scrap cardstock.  I created the stripes coming down across my notecard using the 2 masks side by side, leaving space for the stripes.   I used a variety of Distress Oxide inks to  create the rainbow.

Next, I lined up the top of the coffee cup lid with the rainbow and drew some pencil lines where I wanted to continue the rainbow onto the lid.

I used the same mask to add more rainbow colors to the top of the lid.

I wanted to add a little bit of blue to the background, so I just used the mask again to blend some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink onto the card.

I dry embossed a flower pattern onto my coffee cup to add a little texture.

A couple of butterflies and my sentiment finish the card.

A fun and whimsical take on a coffee-themed card.  Thanks for joining me today!  Be sure to head over to the Kat Scrappiness shop where Kat is offering 10% off your purchase May 25-June 1 using coupon code: ILOVECOFFEE.

  1. This is AMAZING! It’s truly the most Spring/Summer themed entry I’ve seen (and I’ve visited them ALL). I actually saw a pine cone card. ?????Spring/Summer???? But this one REALLY says bright, fun, and adorable. LOVE it!
